Fantasy Island Book Publishing Launches Christmas Book for Charity

Alison Deluca has created a Christmas Book that has the most amazing stories! Christmas O'Clock is available on Amazon for Kindle for only .99 cents. ALL in the name of charity. The proceeds from the book will be given to an amazing organization, OXFAM.

Alison, Nicole Carson, Shaun Allan and Connie J Jasperson have come together and compiled stories that I will be reading to my grandchildren for years to come! This effort was one of the quickest efforts, from inception to publication, that we have seen. Alison's dedication and hard work on this is truly appreciated! Shaun also worked diligently to bring this to fruition.

It was exciting to see the input from this group and the commitment to make something so special happen. The final cover was a group effort in suggestions and ideas. And really?...you have to just LOVE those cute little toes!

We are blessed at Fantasy Island Book Publishing to have such amazing people!
Thanks to everyone and Happy Holidays!

Knowledge via Proximity

Many, many, many years ago on Thanksgiving day, my then sister-in-law turned to me and said ‘We can’t make gravy. Please make the gravy for us.” If I EVER had a ‘Deer in the Headlights’ moment, this was one for me. At the speed of light, my thought process rolled through, ‘My MOTHER is THE gravy expert, I don’t know squat and what are you thinking asking ME to do this?’, ‘But, how hard can it be?’ then finally to, ‘I need to do this for them’.

Being from the Midwest, my mother could make wondrous gravy out of anything and everything. Gravy was a food group in my home growing up. However, I had NEVER made gravy in my life! I wasn’t a slouch in the kitchen and had worked as a cook at a diner, but my ‘tools’ were a griddle and deep fry baskets. I could flip a mean burger and fries that were to die for but gravy was foreign, untried. At that moment when my sister-in-law asked me to do this, I took on the challenge with some trepidation and blind confidence.

When dinner was served, my gravy was AWESOME. Apparently, I had spent enough hours just watching my mother to have absorbed gravy skills. It was not too salty, not too bland……….just right. There had NEVER been a teaching moment with my mother at the stove. I had apparently been around enough to know what to do and my proximity in the kitchen caused some of that knowledge to rub off.

This company is RIFE with gravy moments. We are surrounded by authors who have knowledge in so many areas. As we grow, that knowledge grows and is there for the ‘picking’ by all the others in this group. Each of our authors has a talent. That talent runs the gamut from technical skills to know-how in ‘turning a phrase’.

Embrace your own ‘gravy knowledge’ and share it with us. We will all be richer for it.
